                Scanning into Word 2007 or 2010

                In Word 2003 you were able to scan an image directly into a document.  This feature was accessed by selecting the INSERT menu, PICTURE then FROM SCANNER OR CAMERA.

                Fantastic! Easy to use, it just kicked into your scanner software and away you went.
                Unfortunately, Word 2007 and 2010, had this feature taken away, and didn’t give us anything in it’s place.  What a pain.
                But we can fairly easily create a macro that will do this for us.  Now, this short post is really aimed at people who already know how to do macros etc, so I’m not going into all that here.
                So here is the macro -
                Sub ScanImage
                On Error GoTo ERRORHANDLER
                Application.WordBasic.InsertImagerScan
                ERRORHANDLER:
                End Sub
                Simply add this code to a module as part of the Normal template, then add a new Group to the Ribbon bar for that macro.
