Microsoft Access

Level 1

Pre-requisites

It is assumed that the delegate will have a good knowledge of the Windows environment and little or no knowledge of Microsoft Access

Course Objectives

This ½ day session is aimed at new users of Access who would like to create a database from scratch and understand the basics of working with Access.

Course Content

• Getting into Access

• The database window

• Database types (flat file / relational)

• Creating a new database

• Creating a table

• Entering data

• Filtering data

• Basic queries

Level 2

Pre-requisites

It is assumed that the delegate will have a good knowledge of the Windows environment and some knowledge of Microsoft Access

Course Objectives

This ½ day session is aimed at new users of Access and builds on the lessons learned in session 1.

Creating input forms, and flexible queries that can be output to reports

Course Content

• Building a form

• Building queries

• Building ‘quick queries’

• Building flexible queries

• Creating reports

• Output query results to reports

• Edit reports

Level 3

Pre-requisites

It is assumed that the delegate will have a good knowledge of the Windows environment and some knowledge of Microsoft Access

Course Objectives

This ½ day session is aimed at users of Access who wish to build relational databases.

Creating multiple tables and queries based upon relational data

Course Content

• Building multiple tables

• Linking tables

• Types of relationships

• Creating ‘lookups’

• Building queries

• Using Expression Builder

• Querying multiple tables

• Creating calculations in queries

Level 4

Pre-requisites

It is assumed that the delegate will have a good knowledge of the Windows environment and some knowledge of Microsoft Access

Course Objectives

This ½ day session is aimed at users of Access who wish to build relational databases.

Creating multiple tables and forms based upon relational data

Course Content

• Creating lookups in a table

• Creating forms and sub forms

• Using lookups in a form

• Using forms with queries

• Using calculations in a form

• Creating buttons on forms

Pre-requisites

It is assumed that the delegate will have a good knowledge of the Windows environment and knowledge of Microsoft Access

Course Objectives

This ½ day session is aimed at users of Access who wish to build relational databases.

Making your database easy for your users to use

Course Content

• Building multiple forms

• Using forms to define query criteria

• Building a user interface

• Outputting data to Excel

• Using and creating form controls
